The Demo is Here!
We’re thrilled to announce that our demo is live on Itch.io!
This first demo for Of Sense & Soul contains approximately 3800 words of main story for one of our two routes. It’s designed to introduce you to the world and (some of) the characters who bring our story to life, as well as give you a taste of where the story might lead...
This demo is the result of nearly eight months of concerted effort, and years of world-building, character design, and daydreaming before that. It’s almost funny at this point to think back to the first conversations Ingrid and AKA had about the characters who would one day become Hugo and Seamus, way back in 2016. What was once going to be a comic and is now a visual novel we’re so, so proud of and excited to share with you all has been an incredible ride so far — and we’re only just getting started!
We’re incredibly grateful for the hard work of our entire team, especially in these uncertain and unpredictable times.
The timeline for this demo was pushed back on multiple occasions, in part due to the impact of COVID-19 on the world at large, and on the personal lives of the development team. That only makes us more excited to finally get to show it to the world, however, and moving forward, we’ll continue to work hard on this project as we continue to navigate the rapidly changing state of the world.
Please follow Forsythia Productions on Itch.io as well if you’d like to get updates from Itch when there are new developments on Of Sense & Soul.
We would also greatly appreciate if you would fill out our demo feedback form once you’ve had a chance to play through the demo — all feedback will be considered as we move forward with developing our extended demo, which we aim to release in early 2021, and then with the remainder of the game
Finally, we want to offer a word of thanks to all of you who have shown so much excitement and enthusiasm for this project as we’ve worked to bring it to life.
We’re energized every day by the comments we get on social media and the conversations that occur on our Discord server (which you can join here, if you haven’t yet — we’d love to have you!).
We hope that this project can serve as a bit of light and warmth in your lives, and we feel passionately about using this space as a platform for positive, diverse queer narratives — the kind we, as a dev team, want to see in the world.
Again, thank you, and we can’t wait for you to play the demo! Welcome to the world of Of Sense & Soul!
Until next time,
Ingrid and AKA
That's it for this announcement! Next time you see us, it'll be in our Demo Postmortem!
